    En combinant sociolinguistique, éducation linguistique et culturelle, et en prenant en compte le développement rapide de la langue anglaise dans le contexte algérien, la présente étude vise à comprendre les représentations de la langue française parmi les étudiants français de première année inscrits à l'Université d'El Tarf. . Notre ambition est de révéler les différentes représentations que notre échantillon a de la langue en question, qui influenceront par la suite, de manière positive ou négative, leurs cursus universitaires. D'après notre enquête, nous avons constaté qu'en fonction de l'origine sociale et culturelle des étudiants, en général, la langue est considérée pour eux comme une langue prestigieuse, offrant de nombreuses opportunités d'obtenir un emploi, notamment dans le domaine de l'enseignement. By combining sociolinguistics, language and cultural education, and taking into account the rapid development of the English language in the Algerian context, the current study aims to understand the representations of the French language among first-year French students enrolled at the University of El Tarf. Our ambition is to reveal the different representations that our sample has regarding the language in question, which will subsequently influence, in a positive or negative way, their university curricula. According to our survey, we found that depending on the social and cultural background of students, in general, French is considered a prestigious language for them, which offers many opportunities to obtain a job, especially in the field of teaching. من خلال الجمع بين اللغويات الاجتماعية وتعليم اللغات والثقافات، مع الأخذ في الاعتبار التطور المتسارع للغة الإنجليزية في السياق الجزائري، تهدف الدراسة الحالية إلى فهم تمثيلات اللغة الفرنسية لدى طلاب السنة الأولى لغة فرنسية المسجلين بجامعة الطارف . طموحنا هو الكشف عن التمثيلات المختلفة التي تمتلكها عينتنا فيما يتعلق باللغة المعنية، والتي ستؤثر لاحقا، بطريقة إيجابية أو سلبية، على مناهجهم الجامعية. وفقا للمسح الذي أجريناه، وجدنا أنه اعتمادا على الخلفية الاجتماعية والثقافية للطلاب، فإنهم بشكل عام، تعتبر بالنسبة لهم اللغة الفرنسية من اللغات المرموقة، التي ت تيح فرص ا عديدة للحصول على وظيفة، خاصة في مجال التدريس
