The Use of Novella to Enhance EFL Learners’ Writing Skill. Case Study: Third Year Students of CHADLI BENDJEDID University.

Abstract

This paper tries to explore the dimensions of applying novella as a supporting tool for promoting writing skill of EFL Third Year Students of CHADLY BENDJEDID University. More precisely, it seeks to test whether novella motivates EFL learners to write or not, and inspects the key elements of writing that are covered and mastered by means of novella. The method used to look for the validity of these suggested hypotheses is descriptive in which a sample of thirty students who are divided into two segments according to their gender were asked to fill the intended questionnaire. The analysis of the collected data was quantitative based on the responses of closed and open-ended questions. The results of the present survey reported that the impact of novella as stimulating device is based on the sex of reader. Despite this, the outcomes also showed that novella has a prominent influence on boosting the aspect of creativity. As a conclusion, novella needs to be adopted appropriately by EFL teachers as a tasks and activities to make learners benefit from its avails.
