الضيافة في الحكايات الشعبية هي مظهر أساسي للدلالة على الكرم، الترحاب، والاحترام، والاهتمام بالضيف. تعتبر جزءًا لا يتجزأ من القيم الاجتماعية والثقافية في العديد من المجتمعات، وتظهر في الحكايات الشعبية كرمز للخير، والمساعدة، والتعاون. كما تجسد الحكاية الشعبية الضيافة باعتبارها قيمة أخلاقية سامية و مظهرا من مظاهر الكرم و الشهامة غالبا ما تقدم الشخصيات الكريمة بالضيافة في صورة الأبطال أو الحكماء والضيافة في الحكايات الشعبية تعكس كرم المضيف وتقديره للضيف، مما يساهم في بناء علاقات قوية بين الأفراد.
