dc.description.abstract The topic of our study is about the difficulties facing first year LMD students during oral classes. The objective of the present study is to illustrate the challenges encountered by EFL learners in their oral performance at the English department of the University of El Taref. Our research methodology involved the use of questionnaire.The data collected revealed several factors that adversely affect the students' oral performance in the oral expression course. Our study postulates that students face various impediments such as linguistic and psychological difficulties, as well as negative attitudes towards the subject matter, which hinder their progress in oral proficiency. To validate our hypotheses, we conducted an investigation on first-year LMD students and their oral expression module teachers at the aforementioned department. Based on our findings which approves our hypotheses that states the difficulties that first year LMD students face, the teachers are more than teachers they are a resourse a controller , assessor and so on and also the activities that teachers should use to amelio
