Abstract

This study aims to know the extent to which Sociology Communication Master students use Facebook in their health awareness regarding the mutating Corona virus, by trying to identify the habits and patterns of social science students’ use of Facebook in their health awareness towards the mutated Corona virus, as well as the motives for this use, in addition To their health gratifications achieved towards this virus as a result of their use of Facebook. The study relied on the survey method, which was conducted in a comprehensive survey method on the students of Sociology and Communication Master, Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Chadli Ben Jadid - El Tarf - consisting of 153 items, which represents the research community in this study, and this study also relied A survey form as a data collection tool. •Where the study reached the following results: •With regard to personal data: •The percentage of female students is greater than that of males . •Students whose age ranges from 22-30 years ranked first. •We conclude that the highest percentage was for students registered in the first year of a master's degree in the Department of Sociology of Communication. •With regard to the habits and patterns of social communication master students' use of Facebook in their health awareness about the mutating Corona virus: •The largest percentage of students who are interested in following health publications that are more concerned with the Corona virus. •The largest percentage of students use Facebook to identify both viruses. •The students who ranked first are the ones who spend more than once a week using Facebook to follow health posts about the mutated coronavirus. •The highest percentage is due to students who use Facebook for three hours or more to follow health publications regarding the mutated Corona virus. •The highest percentage of students prefer to use Facebook at night to follow up on health publications regarding the mutating Corona virus. •The highest percentage of students use mobile phones to follow up on health publications regarding the mutated coronavirus. •The largest percentage of students use Facebook at home to follow health publications regarding the mutating Corona virus. •The first place was for students who joined pages of a health nature interested in publishing about the mutated Corona virus. •The highest percentage of students share health publications on the subject to benefit from them. •With regard to the motives of sociology students using Facebook Master Connection in their health awareness about the mutating Corona virus: •The largest percentage of students use Facebook because it is free, in order to follow health publications regarding the mutating Corona virus. •That a percentage of students are interested in publishing about the mutated Corona virus due to the continuous rise in infections in Algeria and the presence of deaths and thus their fear of infection. •Students primarily use Facebook to obtain medical advice on identifying the most beneficial treatment in the event of any mutation. •That the students ranked first in tracking the latest developments of this virus by the World Health Organization. •The highest percentage of students use Facebook to view national health publications related to the mutated coronavirus. *The highest percentage of students believes that Facebook is always interested in Sufficiently. . disseminating health information about the mutated Corona virus *The highest percentage is for the students who trust to a moderate degree in the health information related to the mutated Corona virus that they obtain from Facebook *With regard to the gratifications achieved by students of Sociology of Communication Master as a result of their use of Facebook in their health *The largest percentage belonged to the category of students who consider Facebook as a main source in obtaining health information regarding the mutated Corona virus *The highest percentage of students believes that Facebook has always succeeded in . increasing their health knowledge about the mutated corona virus *The largest percentage of students have begun to differentiate between the Delta and . Omicron mutants as a result of their tracking of health publications on Facebook *Most of the students learned sound preventive habits to avoid infection with the mutated . coronavirus *The highest percentage has returned to students who answered that they learned through their use of Facebook that the mask must be pressed well on the nose when wearing it, . otherwise it will not have any role in prevention *The health publications that students follow on Facebook cause them to keep wearing a . protective mask in the right way, in order to avoid infection with the mutated corona virus * The students' use of Facebook has contributed mainly to health awareness, most of them towards the mutated Corona virus
