Abstract

The main objective of this study is to identify the role of information and communication technology in activating the strategic vigilance system in the Algeria Telecom Business Fellowship in the state of El Tarf. To achieve this, we relied on the descriptive and analytical approach and divided the study into two parts: a theoretical section that examines the various sources related to the study, and an application section that relies on analysis using the Statistical Packages for Social Sciences program (SPSS v27) of the questionnaire results, and a sample related to the subject of the study was distributed. The study found a statistically significant effect of information and communication technology on strategic alertness in its four dimensions, which are (technological alertness, competitive alertness, commercial alertness, and environmental alertness) in the institution under study at a significance level α = 0.05. The study recommended the need to create a special department at the institution level that specializes in collecting information about various environmental elements, meaning creating a strategic vigilance cell through which the efforts of individuals in searching for strategically important information can be organized and supported, so that it becomes carried out in the form of activities that are truly concerned with vigilance about the external environment.
